Start a Check
From the Perform Checks page in the Check App, you can:
- Begin a new check using the 'Start Check' button.
- You will be prompted to select the location you wish to check, and the checklist you will be using.
- Continue a previously started check from your 'In Progress' list
- Begin a check from your ‘To-Do' list (online access only)
Tip: Swap between the 'Perform Checks' page views using the left side toggle as shown below:
Once you have started your check, depending on your screen size you will see either:

As a checker, your objective is to fill out the checklist as required before submitting it.
The page is sectioned off into two sides:
- On the left - Summary of the Checklist.
- On the right - The Checklist
Tip: To view the summary while operating in mobile view, expand the Section navigation bar as indicated above.
Summary of the Checklist
This section provides an overview of the checklist by displaying:
- Total number of questions present in the checklist
- Sections of the checklist
- The number of questions each section contains
- The overall score is based on the number of questions answered
- The Review button - Allows you to review your answers
- The Save button - Allows you to save your progress
- The Add Photo button - Allows you to upload a photo as needed
Tip: You can tap/click on any section to quickly navigate to it.

Checklist
You will be required to answer each question based on the type and requirements.

As you answer each question in the checklist, the summary will be updated to show you how many questions have been answered and what the Overall Score is based on the number of questions answered until that point.
Questions in a checklist can be:
Required
These questions are required to be answered, and the check cannot be completed without one.
Note: where applicable, selecting N/A or Cannot Audit is equivalent to answering the question.
Optional
These questions are considered optional, and answering them is not necessary in order to complete the check. An optional question will be indicated with an "(Optional)" caption next to the question.
Required/Optional Photo Submission
Checkers are able to upload photos to support their answers to any question as needed.
An optional photo upload option is present in every question of the checklist.
A required photo requires the checker to upload a picture based on the question asked, and the question cannot be completed without it. This can also appear as logic-based and can be set to appear only for a specific answer, for eg: Clicking on X for the picture below.
A question that requires a photo will be indicated with the caption"(Photo Required)" in red.
Additional Instructions
Admin users can leave additional instructions on questions to help ensure that the checker has all the information they need in order to evaluate the question correctly.
If a question has a green question mark next to it, this icon signifies that this question has additional instructions. To view, click the green question mark and the instructions will appear on the screen.
Required/Optional Comment
An optional comment option is present in every question of the checklist. This gives the checker the option to add any thoughts or observations to that particular answer for further review or for the next checker to view while they complete their next check.
A required comment option requires the checker to comment on the question asked, and the question cannot be completed without it. This can also appear as logic-based and can be set to appear only for a specific answer, for eg: Clicking on X for the picture below.
A required comment will be indicated by the caption"(Comment Required)" in red.
Flagged for a Followup
Questions on the checklist can individually be flagged for a followup. Followups are action items that are used to identify deficiencies or issues that need to be addressed at a location. To do this, click on the flag button present in the question.
The "Add Followup" box pops up
To create a followup:
- Fill out the name section, or by default keep it as the name of the question being flagged for the followup
- Fill out a description of what the followup is required for and any details pertaining to it
- On Assignees, assign the followup to a user within your organization that taking care of resolving the followup. and a dropdown list of users will appear as well as a search box. Click on a user from the list, or type the name of the user in the search box. Select the user.
- Assign the followup a priority level based on importance and urgency - low, medium, or high.
- Enter in Tags for the followup - Click the arrow and it will drop down to show all the locations which can be used as a tag. You can also Create a New Tag, by clicking on the option at the bottom of the dropdown menu.
- Enter a due date, by clicking on the arrow or the calendar icon, which will drop down to display a calendar for you to select a followup due date.

Assign N/A
Based on the question, a Not Applicable - i.e N/A option may be available on the question. This is normally done if the question cannot be applied to the context of the check and location.
To select this option, click on the N/A button and it will gray out the question and the option to answer the question on the screen will disappear.
To undo this action, you can simply click on the N/A button once again, and it will revert back to its original form.
Assign Cannot Check Status
Based on the question, a checker can indicate a "Cannot Check" status on the question. This is normally done when the checker is unable to verify the answer to the question due to any possible situation.
To apply a "Cannot Check" status, click on the Cannot Check button and it will grey out the question and the option to answer the question on the screen will disappear.
Next Steps
To switch sections, click the Next Section box located at the bottom right of the page.
Repeat the earlier steps for the remainder of the questions and section present on the checklist.
Once you have completed all the questions and sections, click on the Review box located at the bottom right of the page.
The review page will appear, and will look something like this:
The review section allows you to:
- Review the final score of the check conducted
- Check to ensure that all the details are correct
- Review all the questions and answers you have completed
- As required by the checklist, you may need to input your signature, located right at the bottom.
Once you have completed all of these steps, select the Submit/Submit for Approval button located on the bottom right of the page to complete the check and submit your results.
