This article explains how to connect and use the ThermoWorks® Thermapen® ONE Blue with Temperature questions in the IntouchCheck app. It covers enabling Bluetooth, connecting the device, capturing a temperature reading, and disconnecting the thermometer when finished.
Before You Begin Performing Your Check
Check Organization Settings: Ensure your account administrator has enabled the Bluetooth feature for your organization.
Enable Bluetooth: Ensure Bluetooth is toggled ON in your smartphone or tablet system settings.
Power On: Ensure your Thermapen® ONE Blue is powered on and within range.
Connect the Thermapen® ONE Blue
Navigate to the relevant checklist.
Open a Temperature question.
Select Connect (this button appears directly below the temperature entry field).

On the connection screen, select the option to Scan for Devices.
Tip: If the thermometer has been idle, you may need to close and reopen the Thermapen® probe to "wake it up" and ensure it is broadcasting a signal.
Select Your Device
If a device is found, a list of available Thermapen® ONE Blue devices will appear.
Select your specific thermometer from the list (identified by its unique serial number).
If no device is detected:
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled, the thermometer is powered on, and the device is within range.
- Select Scan Again.
- Ensure the Thermapen® is not currently connected to another app or mobile device.
Capture a Temperature Reading
Once the connection is successful, the app will display a live reading from the thermometer.
Insert the Thermapen® probe into the item being measured.
Monitor the reading on your screen until it stabilizes.
Tap Accept to save the current value into the checklist question.
Note: The reading will not be saved to your check until you tap Accept. Once accepted, the unit of measure (F/C) will be locked to match the device to ensure data integrity.Repeat for all temperature questions in the Check.
Disconnect the Device
To end the session or switch to a different thermometer:
Select the Disconnect option within the connection modal.
Confirm the disconnection.
Note: The device will no longer transmit readings to the checklist until it is reconnected through the steps above.
